My Policies

It appears that it's the time for Change in City Hall and every constituent I have spoken to feels the same.

Spending: It's at an all time high in City Hall! Nearly yearly has their been programs slashed for lack of funds and no responsibility with tax payers money being dwindled away to irresponsible spending. There is no bigger problem in City Hall! Lack of responsibility will NOT be tolerated anymore and it appears that the councilors who go on their years of "experience" are no longer creating harmony and change that the citizens are appreciating.

But otherwise Toronto needs an OVERHAUL! I think there are more issues than the obvious, there are more concerns than meet the eyes of the Media 5, and they haven't even begun to scratch the surface.

  • Toronto is the largest city in Canada, and should be modern, efficient, accessible. TTC has recently put us to shame, with poor services and wasteful money spending. Who cares if you can get tweets and text messages from the TTC, if it's not working and the schedules are not being followed.
  • Safety! People aren't always feeling safe. Toronto should be safe from the main streets of the city to the parks we all sometimes need to walk through to get to other locations. There are too many weapons in our city and youth violence is on the rise. This is a city concern!
  • Healthy City! Does no one care that there is a rise in Diabetes in Canada, as well as Toronto. Lack of city funding, cutting programs such as pools, closing skating rinks to keep garbage in them indefinitely. Irresponsibility on the city and it's Mayor!
  • With Health an issue that matters to every citizen, how about some responsibility! Other cities in the world have taken initiatives to eliminate Trans Fats from all restaurants, others have imposed laws where restaurants provide patrons with calorie content. We need to find ways to help our citizens to be and stay healthy.
  • Green Toronto, we are aware of Pollution, Waste Management... we spent millions on the Waste Bin Collections; we need to be concerned about building Eco-friendly buildings, gardens and green areas. We need to provide help or rebates to citizens who are making changes are reducing their carbon imprint in the city.
  • Local Small Business--- these people are what make this city function on a daily basis. Small business owners should constantly be help and uplifted by the city to make thriving business solutions to keep the local economy moving and the overall of the city's appeal.
And I cannot further state, that no councilor can begin to identify with the needs of the constituents in their ward, if they themselves don't live in the ward. Our ward got hit with a 9% property tax increase 2 years ago with very little to show in return. We are the least funded, least offered ward in Toronto. This ward is not just some political party's platform, where they raise the profiles of their members like prized horses.

We are citizens, with homes and families... who walk on our streets and want to feel safe on Queen East in the later hours of the evening. We want the parks to be clean and safe for when we want to take our children there in the morning after said nights. We want the shops to stay open and work so their is local business' to shop from and even to have work for some as well.

Our children will go to school in this Ward! They will be educated in this Ward! Programs should be offered. Art funding should be offered in the Ward. Parking solutions, Snow removal, road repairs are all things that any councilor who doesn't live, eat and play in the ward doesn't appreciate or understand the concerns of the fellow constituents in their riding!

For this alone it is time to put someone in the Ward who lives in the Ward.
